Lunchroom Ladies Brownies – 50-Year-Old Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
¼ cup cocoa powder
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
2 eggs
½ cup butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
In a bowl, mix sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
Add eggs, melted butter, and vanilla, and stir until well combined.
Fold in walnuts if using.
Pour batter into prepared dish and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool before cutting into squares and serving.
