Ritz Cracker Party Sandwiches

These mini, bite-sized sandwiches are a perfect crowd-pleaser. They feature layers of savory ham and creamy Swiss cheese, all baked between buttery Ritz crackers and brushed with a flavorful mustard-butter glaze. They come together quickly and always disappear fast at parties.

Ingredients

  • 48 Ritz crackers

  • 8 slices deli ham

  • 8 slices Swiss cheese

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried minced onion

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

Step 2: Prep the Ham and Cheese
Cut the ham and Swiss cheese slices into quarters. You should end up with 24 small squares of each.

Step 3: Build the Sandwiches

  • Arrange 24 Ritz crackers on the baking sheet.

  • Top each with one piece of ham and one piece of cheese.

  • Place another cracker on top to form mini sandwiches.

Step 4: Make the Butter Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, poppy seeds, and dried minced onion until well combined.

Step 5: Coat the Sandwiches
Brush the tops of each mini sandwich generously with the butter mixture.

Step 6: Bake
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the crackers become lightly golden.

Step 7: Serve
Let them cool slightly and serve warm.

Cooking Notes

  • Cheese Options: Cheddar, provolone, or mozzarella work well if you don’t have Swiss.

  • Meat Variations: Try turkey, roast beef, or even pepperoni.

  • Make Ahead: Assemble in advance and refrigerate. Brush and bake when ready.

Flavor Variations

  1. Turkey Club Minis
Swap ham for turkey and add a tiny piece of crispy bacon.

  2. Pepperoni Pizza Bites
Use pepperoni and mozzarella; add Italian seasoning to the butter mixture.

  3. Vegetarian Option
Use roasted veggies like zucchini or red pepper with provolone.
